Who We Are

Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation – Namibia

The Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation – Namibia (VISET Namibia) advocate for a holistic approach to informal sector integration that recognizes informal actors not as obstacles to urban and rural development, but as vital partners in creating dynamic, inclusive, and safe cities. Research and international good practices demonstrate that informal actors can play a constructive role in addressing urban challenges such as crime reduction, waste management, and public space activation.

Furthermore, investing in improved infrastructure - such as strategic designated trading areas, access to water and sanitation, and secure storage facilities amongst a few, not only enhances the dignity and productivity of informal workers but also fosters safer, cleaner, and more vibrant public environments. Through capacity building, policy engagement, infrastructure support, research, and strategic partnerships, VISET Namibia is committed to amplifying the voices of informal workers and securing their rightful place in the national development agenda.
